We have designed a nice finishing touch to either keep your OEM column (with or without the shifter) or add a 2" aftermarket column. The 1949-1954 Chevy cars have a large hole in the firewall that requires making an adapter plate or welding up the hole in the firewall to accommodate your column without the factory steering box. We personally like the look of the original column in these cars, but have long thought there was a need to have a simple solution to keep it. This bracket will fit all 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, and 1954 Chevy cars.
